The touch of a woman... The expertise of a surgeon

Dr. Greenwald is a nationally recognized vascular surgeon who has been in practice since 1985. In 1989 she moved to Hartford and has been in private practice in that area since then. Dr. Greenwald founded one of the premier vascular surgery groups in the tristate area in 1995 and has been a member of the teaching staff at the University of Connecticut Medical School and residency program. In 2003 she decided to focus on her passion, the care of venous problems, and founded Vanishing Veins. It has become one of the centers of excellence for vein care in the country. She has personally performed over two thousand ablation procedures and thousands of other vein treatment procedures.

Dr. Greenwald completed her general surgery residency at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center and her vascular surgery fellowship at Temple University. She holds memberships in the American Medical Association, The American College of Surgery (where she is a fellow), The Association of Women Surgeons, The Society of Vascular Surgery, The New England Vascular Society, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American College of Phlebology, among others. She is board certified in Vascular Surgery and Phlebology. She is the only woman in CT board certified in both these specialties.

In recognition of her excellence Dr. Greenwald was chosen by Money Magazine as one of the Northeast's top Vascular Surgeons. She was also voted one of America's Top Surgeons for Vascular Surgery and Phlebology by the Consumers' Research Council of America in 2009.

She has appeared on Better CT with Scot Haney numerous times, Fox CT News, Brad Davis and Mary Jones show. She was featured in Connecticut Magazine and the health section of the Hartford Courant – earning national acclaim and a revered name.

Dr. Greenwald and the staff at Vanishing Veins and Vivesse are proud supporters of The Easter Seals, Lea’s Foundation for Lymphoma and Leukemia Research, American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Gifts of Love (families helping families), and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure CT affiliate, to name a few.
