Dr. Greenwald MD PC
The Skill of a Surgeon, the Touch of a Woman
First entering private practice in 1989, Dr. Greenwald has been one of Connecticut’s premier vein specialists for well over two decades. Having trained at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center and Temple University, Dr. Greenwald is one of the few vascular specialists in the state board certified in both vascular surgery and phlebology.
For her, though, certifications were never enough. Fully devoted to giving patients the very best she could offer, Dr. Greenwald turned her attention to her true calling—vein diseases—and opened Vanishing Veins in 2003, offering patients a safe, relaxing experience like none that existed before. Offering the best, though, is a daily struggle to stay on top of the constantly evolving trends and developments. As a result, Dr. Greenwald has pledged herself to learning, earning memberships in and attending conferences at The American College of Surgery (where she is a fellow), The Association of Women Surgeons, The Society of Vascular Surgery, The New England Vascular Society, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the American College of Phlebology, to name a few.
All this work and excellence has not gone unnoticed either. In addition to being featured regularly on WFSB’s Better Connecticut with Scot Haney and Kara Sundlun, as well as in the Hartford Courant, Dr. Greenwald has earned several coveted distinctions:
- Money Magazine – one of the Northeast’s Top Vascular Surgeons
- Consumer Research Council of America – one of America’s Top Surgeons for Vascular Surgery and Phlebology
- A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau
- Chosen One of Hartford’s Finest
- Chosen as The Talk of the Town for vein care
“It’s been my mission, since I opened my private practice, to help people look and feel their best. This isn’t about vanity. It’s about self esteem.”
– Dr. Greenwald

Casey McKnight recently joined the team at Vanishing veins and Vivesse Med spa.
She brings her many talents and years of experience to us and we are excited to have her become part of our family.
Casey is originally from Oklahoma, where she gained all of her training and experience. She received her Bachelor in Nutritional Sciences from Oklahoma State University as well as completed her Registered Nurse program at Tulsa Community College.
She is a Certified Chronic Hemodialysis Technician with three years of experience and more than a year’s experience as a Registered Nurse in orthopedic care at Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Casey has a strong passion for wellness, vascular health, cosmetic medicine and patient education.
With her background in nutrition, we are adding an extensive maintenance phase to our weight loss program. She will be educating patients on how to eat healthy and maintain the progress that they achieved on our HCG weight loss program.
Venous disease is not new to Casey. Many of her family members have suffered from vein issues throughout her life. This very personal life experience enables her to bring compassion, understanding and education to our venous patients. Casey hopes to help others deal with these same health issues.
Cosmetic medicine is near and dear to Casey’s heart. She has six years of experience as a cosmetologist. Empowering one to feel confident about themselves has always been one of Dr. Greenwald’s missions. Casey shares this same mission and makes her a perfect fit for Vanishing Veins and Vivesse.
Casey recently moved to Connecticut with her husband and one-year old daughter. She enjoys teaching her daughter to love the outdoors by going for walks with her family and dogs. She already loves New England and can’t wait to see the fall colors, something Oklahoma does not have!
We welcome Casey. She looks forward to meeting and working with you.
