Plasma PRP Facial

The Plasma Regeneration Facial with PRP: Renew. Regrow. Regenerate.

Bloomfield, CT: What if we told you that you had the power to reverse the signs of aging, including wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks from within. That’s right, the latest in advanced skin care technology comes from you, literally. The growth factors found in plasma in your blood could be your very own fountain of youth.

Even if you don’t like the sight of your own blood, don’t worry. The Plasma Regeneration Facial with PRP won’t turn your stomach. Only a small amount of blood is drawn and then processed to separate the plasma from the red and white blood cells. (Unlike what Kim Kardashian showcased in the now infamous Vampire Facial that left her face covered in blood.)

The Plasma Regeneration Facial with PRP by Vivesse Med Spa has all the same benefits without the ick factor. Growth factors found in your plasma are applied to your face and because they are processed look more like a tinted yellow liquid when applied with our Micro-Needling pen.

“We are one of only a select few Med Spas in Connecticut to offer this technology,” said Dr. Greenwald, medical director and owner of Vanishing Veins and Vivesse Med Spa. “The practitioner draws just a small amount of blood, similar to what you would do for a basic lab test. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge and spins it a very high rate, separating the platelets from other components of the blood.”

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP is activated to release at least eight essential growth factors including ones which repair damaged tissue, grow new cells and generate new skin. Platelets in our blood cells are designed to heal injuries. For years, doctors and reconstructive surgeons have been injecting PRP into joints to help speed up the process of healing. Now, the benefits are being applied medical aesthetics. The results are thicker dermis, softer wrinkles, less scaring and tighter skin.

At Dr. Lori Greenwald’s Vivesse Med Spa, PRP is applied through Micro-Needling technology, called the Eclipse PRP MicroPen. The automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is also a new innovation in aesthetic medicine. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.

The Plasma Monocytes Platelets (yellow tinted liquid) are separated from the red blood cells and granulocytes and then applied to the skin with the Micro-Needling PRP pen.

QUESTION AND ANSWERS

Q: Science & Data Behind PRP

As part of the body’s healing ability, platelets and other components in human blood migrate to the point of care. Platelets are well known to release numerous growth factors that respond to tissue injury and initiate and promote the conditions for healing. Eclipse PRP® is an autologous system that allows health care providers to prepare platelet-rich plasma at the patient point of care. The platelet-rich plasma is optimally concentrated with minimal amounts of contaminating red and white blood cells. This system has been safely used in hundreds of thousands of procedures worldwide.

Q: How long does the PRP process take?

A: The blood draw takes just a couple of minutes, followed immediately by a 10-minute centrifugation. The time involved in the application varies based on which procedure is being performed.

Q: How many PRP sessions are required?

A: Your medical professional can create a treatment plan based on your individual needs. Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.

Q: Can a PRP procedure be painful?

A: Eclipse PRP® is close to a physiologic pH, which means the product is less likely to cause a stinging or burning sensation. There may be some temporary discomfort or possible redness and inflammation at the application site, but quickly resolves.

Q: Is PRP safe?

A: Since the autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is produced from a patient’s own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.

Q: How long does the procedure take?

A: The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.

Q: What is the downtime?

A: Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin.

The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours. Utilizing the Eclipse Skin Revive System™, or other quality skincare products, provided by your skincare provider, can help to speed up the healing process.

Q: When will I see the results?

A: Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.

with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.
